For Bisser in Adelaide Hills, building a sewing studio was about creating a calm, creative space. They wanted a space that felt both practical and inspiring, nestled naturally into its surrounds.
Surrounded by trees, the setting played an important role in how the studio would eventually be used, as a quiet place to focus, make and step away from the main house, while still feeling closely connected to it.
From the very beginning of working with SheShed, the process felt reassuring. All materials for their Cabana cabin arrived right on schedule, and the delivery was handled with care and precision.
“Living in the Adelaide hills with challenging terrain and lots of trees, we really appreciated how helpful the truck driver was,” they shared. “He carefully placed every part exactly where we needed it.”
That level of care helped set the tone for the entire project, giving them confidence before construction had even begun.

Building Through Heat, Step by Step
Construction started during some of the hottest days of the year. While the surrounding trees promised shade, the weather had other ideas.
“We were hoping the trees would give us some relief,” they laughed. “But even when the heat didn’t cooperate, we kept going.”
As each stage of the build came together, confidence grew. Working as a team, they followed the process step by step, gradually watching their Cabana cabin take shape.
“Once we got going, everything started to make sense,” they said. “Together, we finished the build in six days.”
From Cabin to Creative Studio
With the structure complete, painting and wiring began, which was a whole new chapter of the project.
Slowly, the cabin transformed from a build site into a personal creative retreat.
Today, the Cabana cabin is a fully finished sewing studio, decorated with her own paintings and fitted out with all the tools needed for sewing and creating.
Friends regularly comment on the space, admiring both the choice of the cabin and the care taken in bringing the space to life!

A Space That Surprises
Visitors are often surprised by just how versatile and spacious the cabin feels once they step inside.
“People always ask where we got it from,” they shared. “They’re amazed that we build it ourselves and that we didn’t need any special equipment.”
Now complete, the Cabana Cabin sewing studio is more than just a place to work and create. It is a handcrafted space that reflect creativity, persistence and pride. Proof that with the right design and support, a SheShed can become truly special.
