The Star Cabin - it's no secret that it's the most popular style of cabin in the SheShed range. It is one of our original cabin styles with its distinct pitched roof, beautiful double-glazed French doors and window, it's also available in a modern mono-pitch style roof. The Star cabin is an extremely versatile cabin.
Measuring 3m x 3m, giving you 9m2 floor space, the Star cabin rests comfortably in the balance between providing plenty of interior space, but also fitting within most local council building restrictions. It proves that a small space can offer a lot, whether you're in need of a dedicated home office space, a creative art studio, a private music space, a compact home gym, or an extra room for guests or hobbies, the Star Cabin adapts effortlessly to your needs.
Let's take a look at a few popular configuration options to help you visualise what can fit into a Star cabin and how you might use yours:
If the number of customer photos we have is any indication, then it's safe to say the most popular use for a Star cabin is as a home office, and with the clever placement of a few key furniture items it's easy to see why.
In this configuration you can see how there's ample space for two workstations including desks and chairs. With one desk located on the back wall and the other on the side wall, there's even space for bookcase and a client/reading chair.
You could also easily change this layout and fit two desks side by side on one wall and still have space for the bookcase and chair, perhaps even a 2-seater sofa instead.
At 9m2 the Star is often bigger than a lot of rooms inside existing properties and so it makes for the perfect sleepout/spare room.
As you can see in this configuration, there's ample space to fit a queen-size bed, two side tables, a small wardrobe or bookcase and a chair!
Two single beds would also be another great use of this space, with one placed against either side wall there's still plenty of room for a side table in between them to place a lamp and books etc.
It's often a dream for many creatives to have a dedicated space where they can set up all of their materials and tools etc.
A space where they are free to create and can escape too when they're in a creative mood with no need to pack things away so they're not cluttering up the house.

When it comes to getting the most out of the space you do have in your Star cabin there are a few key things you can do:
The Star Cabin – Treated comes in our classic pitched roof style, with all the timber components being made from sustainably sourced, kiln-dried, Nordic spruce and having undergone a non-toxic, pressure treatment. The roof of the cabin is covered with durable asphalt roof tiles.
Also available in our classic pitched roof style, the Star Cabin – Untreated has timber components which are made from untreated sustainably sourced, kiln-dried, Nordic spruce. Except for floor beams and joists which are required to be treated at an H3.2 level. Please note: All timber components must be properly painted for protection from the sun and weather.
The Star Summit – Treated comes in the very modern mono-pitch steel roof, with all the timber components being made from sustainably sourced, kiln-dried, Nordic spruce and having undergone a non-toxic, pressure treatment.
The Star Summit – Untreated also comes with the modern mono-pitch steel roof, with all the timber components being made from sustainably sourced, kiln-dried, Nordic spruce however they have not undergone a non-toxic, pressure treatment. Except for floor beams and joists which are required to be treated at an H3.2 level. Please note: All timber components must be properly painted for protection from the sun and weather.
